Consent and Release

All clients and students assume the risk and hazards that may occur during exercise, and agree to be medically cleared by a doctor if there is any concern. Any changes in medical condition, new pain or injury should be disclosed as soon as possible so that modifications may be made. A signed release and consent form is required before attending sessions or classes.

Private Session Policy

CONSENT:

Client will promptly inform trainer of any development or change in medical condition or of any new pain or injury. An exercise release form is required to start any session or class. I take full responsibility for my health and with being medically cleared by my doctor to exercise. I assume all risks and hazards incidental to my participation in this class and do hereby waive, release, absolve, indemnify and hold harmless Emily Alrick, Avec Amour Emily LLC and Jesse Nelson for any claim arising out of injury to myself, others or personal loss.

SCHEDULING & CANCELLATIONS:

Once a session is scheduled, all parties are held responsible for those time slots and fees are due. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule any appointment. If 24 hour notice is not given this will count as client forfeiture. If client will be delayed in starting a session on time, that time will be subtracted from the scheduled session and the session will end on time. In the rare event that Emily has to cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice, you will be offered a refund for the missed session or to reschedule, your choice.

FEES & PACKAGES:

All private lessons require 24 hour notice for cancellations or the session cost is forfeited. There are no refunds, credits or make-ups for missing private sessions or packages. All packages must be paid in full to start, committed packages must also be scheduled. There is a release form required for all clients and a short contract for packages to ensure that everyone understands the terms.  All prices are for Emily's private studio. Travel to other locations will increase the fee. All session fees, packages and policies are non-negotiable and non-refundable. Past sessions can not be applied to a package. Solo sessions or packages can not be combined/substituted with group private sessions or packages without prior discussion, however group and private packages can be purchased and used at the same time as separate packages.

Online Class Policy

THE FINE PRINT: Live-streaming classes are taught with Zoom, which is free to students. You will receive a link to register after signing up for class. Make sure your email at check out is correct. All classes are at your own risk and by signing up you release Emily of all liability related to the class. Please make sure you are cleared to exercise and have made any concerns, modification needs or questions known before classes start. There are no refunds, credits, transfers or IOUs. Emily is not responsible for unattended classes or sessions. If a student or client can not attend a class they will have access to the class videos for the duration of the session but there are no refunds on missed classes, workshops or uncompleted session purchases or expired sessions. Any discounted registration dates or special offers are firm and payment must be received by specified date to receive that price.

Participants need to have reliable internet, and a device for viewing class and videos. Streaming videos, Netflix, gaming and other activities happening at the same time you attempt to attend a live class may cause lagging or glitching. Make sure at your class time there is nothing else using your bandwidth so you can have a positive class experience.

MISSING CLASS

There are no refunds, credits, transfers or IOUs for missed classes for any reason. Please make sure you have a secure internet connection and are not trying to stream movies, play games or otherwise use your bandwidth while taking class. If classes must be canceled then refunds will be sent.

PLEASE DO:

  • Have a phone, tablet or computer with internet access, a camera and a speaker.

  • Be on time. Allow yourself enough time to log in and get set up so you can enjoy the full class.

  • Wear comfortable clothing suited for exercise. Anything stretchy and comfortable. Shoes are optional.

  • Let me know if you have injuries or concerns so I can help you modify movements.

  • Make sure you are not trying to take class while streaming video, playing games, or anything else that could take up your bandwidth.

  • Be ready to learn and bring your sense of humor. Bodies are amazing but they can also be funny and awkward so we laugh in my classes! It’s good for our abs.

  • Optional: Feel free to use any props you may have when appropriate.

PLEASE DO NOT:

  • Do not share the private class link, this is grounds for being banned from class permanently without a refund.

  • Disrupt class with chatting during class. All participants will be muted during the active portion of class because it makes the sound quality better for everyone.

  • Do not chew gum or eat while exercising (or do so at your own risk!).

  • Judge yourself or others. Learning is a process and the studio is a safe place to learn.

  • Push through pain/injury. If something hurts you please let me know.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Sign up for any of the dance or fitness classes you like! Make sure to use you preferred email during check out because important class info will be sent there. After you sign up a Zoom registration link for the private virtual dance studio will be sent to you within 24 hours (this is to keep our class private, please do not share this link). Once you register Zoom will automatically send you a link to access your class. Emily will also email all class participants with the registration link and class reminders. When it’s almost class time use that link to log on. Emily will be logged on 10 minutes prior to each class starting, and start video at the set time for each class. Adjust your video and sound preferences and make sure you have adequate room to move.

Fitness classes start with mobility drills to get our joints moving and waking up our bodies. We’ll progress into a full body warm up and core activation before moving on to strength exercises both standing and on the floor, ending with a cool down and stretching. Dance classes usually start with a comprehensive warm up that includes various flexibility, strength and dance related exercises. Movement drills, learning combinations, moving across the floor and working in groups are all common types of dance instruction and classes end with a cool down and stretch session. Class material will be appropriate for the level of the students and the subject matter being taught. Students are encouraged to modify any movements if needed.
